100% cotton field and farm pocket dress is botanically printed with pigment rich coreopsis flowers growin in my own dye garden with a natural background. This item is made to order.

Custom orders ask of the wearer to allow some creative freedom for the artist. Because I’m working with almost exclusively elements from nature, I can never be sure exactly how it will turn out. That’s half the fun of it!

What you can know is you’ll be getting a dress as similar as possible to the one pictured. I pick the flowers just minutes before rolling and steaming the garment.

This sleeveless dress is made of durable 100% combed cotton jersey (5.3 oz/sq yd) and sewn with care in the U.S.A. It features a double needle stitched neckline and hems. The length is between ankle and calf depending on your height. You’ll love the convenience of the two sturdy patch pockets. This is an extremely comfortable and practical loose fitting dress that softens but doesn’t deteriorate with age.

My botanically printed garments go through as many as 5 or 6 processes from start to finish. I grow most of the flowers and plants that I use. The fabric preparation process takes 2 to 3 steps and then there is the printing itself. The prints are the actual pigments from the plants, not a reproduction as in Screen Printing. Each item is truly one of a kind and cannot be duplicated. Botanically printed garments hold up best if you hand wash them and hang them to dry, however machine washing on a gentle cycle in cool water is fine too.
