Magenta, Red, Pink, Purple - Learn the basics of dying fabric with natural plant and insect based dyes. You will learn how to pre-mordant your garments for good adherence of color, how to prepare a dye vat with cochineal and madder, how to modify the pH for the colors in the range of red to purple. You will be provided with a silk scarf to dye in the class and have an option to bring something from home to dye as well. Once registered, you will receive an email with instructions to prepare the garment you’d like to bring to the class.
